Participants were supported by mentors, who shared their knowledge and experience with them.<\/p>\n<p>The first step of Leothon was the registration process. Subsequently, all of the participants received their qualification assignment, upon the completion of which some of them would proceed to take part in the 24 hours-long competition section. Of 100 applicants, over 65 qualified for the 24-hour section.<\/p>\n<p>The contestants had to prepare a general statement on their project, which outlined its main and secondary aims and its potential role in fixing ecological problems with waste management.
